4 Reasons Why You Should See A Chiropractor Right After A Car Accident Even If You Don’t Feel Pain

Car Accident Chiropractor Orlando, Fl

Car accident chiropractor can help you reduce your risk of not getting covered after a car accident.

Florida law requires you to report any injury accident within ten days of the incident.

A car accident is a major event even if you think it's a minor one. Yet, the trauma even in low-speed collisions is not always visible at first. Due to the stress and other factors, you are not always able to feel the pain right away. It takes a couple of days.

The Center of Disease Control and Prevention stated that after a car accident, one-third of the people involved usually have a severe brain injury. This means that even if you don’t feel immediate pain, you should get evaluated. It is important to see a car accident specialist such as a chiropractor who checks your muscles, joints, spine, and nerves.

Judging the injury of a person based on the damage of the car is a big mistake. Also,  although the main reason for seeing a physician right after a car accident is to prevent major injuries from happening, it's not the only reason.  Legal consequences can also occur if you make the decision of not going to a professional immediately. Unfortunately, delaying medical attention will have a negative impact on your potential case.

Make sure that you and those involved in the accident with you get checked by a doctor at the emergency room or doctor’s office within a couple of days. The sooner you go, the less risks.

The state of the car is no indication of your body’s injury

It’s a big misconception to think that because your car seems fine, your body is. This means that even if you just stopped suddenly or had to take a sudden turn to avoid running over something or someone, there's a probability of getting injured. The car may seem fine, but your body may not. Sudden or severe jerks even to avoid an accident may cause whiplash. Also,  low-speed collisions can also cause whiplash.

Sudden movement of the car can cause an injury even without impact.

The lack of pain doesn’t mean you are not injured

Our bodies are not made to sustain certain impacts so sudden movements and jerks may cause certain symptoms of whiplash. If you feel something abnormal or out of the ordinary like muscle spasms, headaches, a stiff neck, blurred vision, fatigue, weakness, nausea, irritability, and vertigo see a doctor right away. Other injuries are hidden because they may appear later like herniated discs, brain injuries, knee injuries, or shoulder injuries to name a few.

Going to the doctor on time can avoid long-term pain and invasive medical procedures.

The sooner you get seen by a chiropractor, the sooner you will recuperate

Being able to catch an injury right when it starts allows you to prevent long term pain. A small injury can have catastrophic consequences if not treated on time. Some injuries may have life-threatening circumstances. What seemed like a small injury at first, could leave you in a wheelchair if not treated appropriately and on time. This is particularly sensitive when it comes to your brain and your neck.

Remember that many of the injuries we see after a car accident are brain related.  An untreated injury can result in surgery, major lifetime pain, and sometimes death.

Prompt check up with your doctor can make legal consequences easier as well

Florida law requires you to report any injury accident within ten days of the incident. Also, many insurance companies only cover medical claims made within three days of an accident. If the claim is filed after, it will reduce your benefits and it could also mean they won't pay for your treatments.

The insurance will try to make a case that your injuries were reported too late after the accident. They could point out that the injuries could have been caused by something else. This could mean that they won’t pay you for your treatment or medical bills.

Insurance companies can also take into consideration how long you waited to go to the doctor and base the severity of your injuries and pain to that delay. If you want to make sure your injuries are covered,  don't wait.
